Pyramids FC will be without Ramadan Sobhi for their crucial African Champions League group stage clash against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
Club medical chief Dr. Mostafa El-Monayeri disclosed that Sobhi experienced discomfort following the team’s latest training session at the Air Defense Stadium, which was part of their preparations to take on Sundowns.
El-Monayeri stated that Sobhi has undergone medical tests, including scans that identified inflammation in his Achilles tendon.
The winger now requires a period of treatment and rehabilitation before he can make a return to the pitch, ruling him out for the upcoming match against Sundowns as he continues his recovery.
Pyramids are scheduled to host Sundowns on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Air Defense Stadium, in what will be the fourth round of matches in the group stage of the competition.
