Pyramids FC defeated their Congolese counterparts, Mazembe, by a goal in the match that took place this evening, Friday, at the Air Defense Stadium, as part of the first round of the African Champions League group stage. South African Fakhri Lakay scored our team’s only goal in the 54th minute, following a shot from a ball received from Fiston Mayele inside the penalty area. This is our team’s first goal in the group stage of the African Champions League. With this victory, Pyramids top their group with 3 points and await the match between South Africa’s Sundowns and Mauritania’s Nouadhibou to determine the group leader after the first round.

Pyramids FC’s women football team delivered a stunning performance, securing an 8-0 win against El Tayaran at the Air Defense Stadium, in their eighth-round league match. May Magdy led the charge with an impressive four-goal haul. Farah Hisham added a brace, while Noura Khaled and Yetunde Fajobi each contributed a goal to the tally. This commanding victory propels the Pyramids women to third in the league standings, amassing 12 points from four matches. The team also has four postponed matches in hand, potentially boosting their position further.

Ibrahim Adel, Pyramids FC star and captain of the national Olympic team, was awarded as Egypt’s Best Rising Player for 2023 by the Dar Al-Tahrir Publishing Foundation. The award was presented during the 61st annual Football and Stadiums Oscar ceremony. Adel secured the award due to his exceptional performance with Pyramids FC last season, and his leadership of the national Olympic team to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games where he was named the tournament’s best player. Adel’s award was received by Pyramids FC coach Mahmoud Fathallah, who was unable to attend due to an injury. The presenters included Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Hisham Hatab, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Eyad Abu El Hagag, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al-Tahrir for Printing and Publishing, and Mohamed El-Demerdash, Editor-in-Chief of the Football and Stadiums newspaper.

Pyramids FC’s Board of Directors extends its heartiest congratulations to the Zamalek Club for their remarkable victory in the semi-finals of the Egypt Cup, securing their spot in the finals of this historic championship in Egyptian football. The club also expresses gratitude towards Pyramids FC players for their formidable efforts throughout the match. Despite the loss, their dedication and commitment were commendable. However, the refereeing was a disappointing aspect of the game. Pyramids FC’s official statement reads as follows: “On behalf of Pyramids FC’s Board of Directors, along with all our staff, we extend sincere congratulations to the Zamalek Club, its Board of Directors, players, and fans on this win and advancement to the final round of the Egypt Cup. While we have no intention to undermine the victory achieved by Zamalek Club, we must express our concern with the questionable and seemingly unfounded refereeing decisions against Pyramids FC during the match, including the issuing of yellow and red cards. The absence of fairness and integrity can lead to a detrimental impact on the sport, and we believe the refereeing decisions in the semi-final match of the Egypt Cup were, regrettably, a clear example of this.”

Jaime Pacheco, the Portuguese coach and technical director of Pyramids FC, has announced the team’s line-up for tonight’s Egyptian Cup Championship match against Zamalek. The match between Pyramids FC and Zamalek will take place at 7pm this evening at the Cairo International Stadium, as part of the semi-final round of the Cup Championship. The line-up includes: Goalkeeper: Ahmed El Shenawy Defence: Mohamed Hamdi, Ali Gabr, Ahmed Sami, and Mohamed El-Shenawy Midfielders: Mohanad Lasheen, Walid El Karti, Mostafa Fathi, Abdullah El-Said, and Blati Toure Forward: Fiston Mayele The substitutes’ bench will feature: Sherif Ekramy, Mahmoud Marei, Karim Hafez, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Tawfik, Ramadan Sobhi, Youssef Osama Nabih, Seif Farouk Gaafar, and Dodo El-Gabas.

They are praying for his health and wellness during this challenging time. Mr. Mamdouh Eid, the President of Pyramids FC, has personally extended his well-wishes by sending a bouquet of flowers to Mr. Farouk. He is eagerly looking forward to an opportunity to visit Mr. Farouk as soon as circumstances allow. Mr. Farouk encountered an unexpected health issue during a club meeting. This resulted in his immediate transfer to a hospital where he underwent critical surgery. He is currently being cared for in the intensive care unit.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set the dates for four rounds of Pyramids FC’s group matches in the African Champions League, which will kick off at the end of November Here are the details of the upcoming fixtures: Matchday 1: Pyramids FC will host DR Congo’s TP Mazembe on Friday, 24th November. The match is due to kick off at 6 pm local time at Cairo’s Air Defense Stadium. Matchday 2: Pyramids FC will then travel to Mauritania to face FC Nouadhibou on Saturday, 2nd December. The match is scheduled to start at 6 pm Cairo time (4 pm Mauritania time) at the Stade Cheikha Boidiya in Nouakchott. Matchday 3: The Egyptian side will face South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, 9th December, with a kick-off time of 3 pm Cairo time. The match will take place at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa. Matchday 4: Pyramids FC will again meet Mamelodi Sundowns, this time on home soil, on Tuesday, 19th December at 6 pm local time, at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo. The fifth and sixth rounds will be held in the last week of February and the first week of March next year, respectively.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the date, venue, and officials for the upcoming African Champions League group stage match between Pyramids FC and DR Congo’s TP Mazembe. The match is set to take place on Friday, 24th November, with a kick-off time of 6 pm local time at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo. The game will be controlled by a team of officials from Kenya led by referee Peter Kamaku. He will be assisted by Gilbert Cheruiyot as the first assistant referee and Steven Yembe as the second assistant referee. The fourth official will be Brook Philip. Beshir Wuld El Arab from Somalia has been assigned as the match commissioner, while the team of officials will be overseen by Salah Ahmed Mohammed from Sudan. The general coordinator for the match will be Christopher Sumiya Bamba from Malawi.
